Accounts receivables are the monies due from customers to a company for products/services that have been sold on credit.
These receivables represent revenue and are reflected as current assets on a company's balance sheet. In fact, they rank among the top three tangible assets on most companies balance sheet. If however this asset is not realized in adds to the cost of a company and could have to be written off.
